Why rodeo champions heading to Kissimmee need fans’ support to win big
Though you might not realize it, rodeo champions need the support of their fans to survive! Put simply, attending our rodeo keeps our cowboys and cowgirls in business. Without their fans, they couldn’t survive in the sport they love. Here’s why the rodeo champions heading to Kissimmee need fans like you!
Rodeo contestants are not contracted to participate in their sport, like players in the NFL, NBA, MLB and other national leagues. For some, they compete in the sport they love because they grew up doing everyday work on the ranch that turned into an occupation. Others fell in love with riding bulls, horses or just rodeo in general, choosing to take it one step further and make it a career. After all, why not do what you love for a living? Isn’t that a great goal?
What most people don’t realize though is rodeo is a business. It takes many people to put on a rodeo production for the fans. There are several groups, committees, volunteers, community partners and full-time staff who help organize our national rodeo; people like the contracted personnel, our sponsors, the stock contractors, the production crew, the lighting crew, our sound crew, the venue staff, the marketing team and events team, and most importantly, the contestants.
A ticket purchased to the rodeo means much more than an awesome fan experience! It means that you actually become a part of the sport, a part of our rodeo family and you have the chance to show support for these hard-working cowboys and cowgirls. Though there are many added perks of your rodeo ticket, that ticket stands for so much more to the contestants competing. It tells them you support their hard work, dreams and future endeavors!
Rodeo is an extreme sport that can be very dangerous. It’s not for the faint of heart. These contestants travel the US throughout the year with late nights and long hauls, some spending their last penny competing for their chance to qualify for the RAM National Circuit Finals Rodeo. For some of them, to make it to the RNCFR is a dream come true! Once they make it to Kissimmee, most of them are anxious, nervous, excited and looking forward to trying their hand at winning the $1 million in cash and prizes. The contestants certainly bring the talent, but now our hope is that the fans will show their support for these hard-working cowboys and cowgirls. They thrive on your chants and cheers from the stands.
Hearing the roar of the crowd helps lessen the physical pain they might be in, gets them excited for what could be the ride of their life and mentally prepares them to do the best they can for you!
We hope you’ll join us as the RAM National Circuit Finals Rodeo returns to Kissimmee April 5th-8th. We’d love to see you cheering on our champions!
