Pink Heals partners with the RAM National Circuit Finals Rodeo in Kissimmee!
The sport of rodeo was established on a strong foundation of family values, sound morals, and charitable contributions. Across the United States, professional rodeos have partnered with many organizations to spread awareness and raise funds for the past several decades. This rodeo season, the RAM National Circuit Finals Rodeo (RAM NCFR) is partnering with Pink Heals of St. Cloud to make the art of giving personal.
The Pink Heals National Tour is a grassroots volunteer organization bringing love and hope to locals. Dave Graybill founded the program in 2007, with the intent to change the way individuals, non-profits and businesses donate to one another, making every transaction transparent. Operating off of monetary donations and merchandise sales, the program drives funding solutions to individuals and communities in need. Local police and fire departments donate police cars and firetrucks for volunteers to deliver assistance and to spread awareness of the organization. The vehicles are painted bright pink (sometimes wrapped) to signify women and their passion for selfless giving. By driving door to door, Pink Heals brings back the human element of celebrating people instead of causes.
The Pink Heals St. Cloud chapter was founded on January 31, 2016, when volunteers made a home visit to Kris, a local woman who was battling stage 4 breast cancer. The fire chief at St. Cloud Fire Rescue approved the use of a fire truck and dispatched a crew to complete the surprise visit. As the crew arrived, with lights flashing and sirens roaring, Kris stepped outside to over 40 people rallied together in support. After seeing the outpour of love and encouragement from the community, volunteers knew a St. Cloud Pink Heals chapter would be of great value within the community.
In September of 2016, the St. Cloud chapter unveiled their very own pink firetruck, aptly named “Kris.” After the initial presentation, “Kris” traveled many miles delivering hope to front doors all over St. Cloud. On June 25, 2017, “Kris” lead a caravan of over 50 muscle cars and monster trucks to the doors of the local children’s hospital. A 12-year-old boy named Nathaniel, diagnosed with stage 4 rhabdomyosarcoma, awaited the arrival of Pink Heals. A week after meeting Nathaniel, volunteers of the organization learned of four local children; Kaden (1), Mya (15), Dani (2), and Landon (7) who were also battling life-threatening diseases. In July 2017, Downtown St. Cloud organized a huge event filled with local vendors, monster trucks and muscle cars providing each young warrior a day to forget reality.
Since 2016, Pink Heals of St. Cloud has helped over 45 people and donated over $57,000 to those battling cancer and other life-threatening diseases in our local community. The RAM NCFR is proud to partner with an organization that supports and encourages individuals battling illnesses by celebrating people, not causes. To spread awareness and aid in donation funds, the RAM NCFR will be donating a portion of ticket and merchandise proceeds from the Pink Heals performance to the Organization. Join the RAM NCFR and the Pink Heals Foundation to help make a difference in the community.
